Draper City Election Information

Three City Council seats will be open in the 2019 Draper City Municipal Election. Each Council seat is at-large for a 4-year term. Persons interested in becoming a candidate for office must file a Declaration of Candidacy in person with the City Recorder, 1020 East Pioneer Road, Draper. The filing dates are Monday June 3, 2019 through Friday June 7 between the hours of 8 a.m to 5 p.m.

To qualify as a candidate for a municipal office, you must be a registered voter and be a resident of Draper for 12 consecutive months prior to the election. The primary election, if needed, will be held Tuesday, August 13, 2019. The general election will be held Tuesday, November 5, 2019.

Q: How can I register to vote?  

Register to vote by mail. Fill out a paper registration form and mail it to your county clerk. 

Register online. A current Utah driver license or ID is required. 

Draper City is unique because some of its residents reside in Salt Lake County, and other residents living in the Suncrest community, live in Utah County.  You much be registered to vote in the county in which you reside.

Register at your county clerk's office. 

Register at the polls. Be sure to provide identification and proof of residence (such as a recent utility bill) with you.

Q: I have moved since I last voted. Do I need to register to vote again?  Yes, you will need to register to vote with your new address.

Q: How can I check whether I'm registered to vote?  Go to vote.utah.gov, click on "Voter Info/Track Ballot," and enter your information. You can also contact your county clerk.

Q: Will I get a mail ballot? All active registered voters in the state, except those living in Carbon and Emery Counties, will automatically receive their ballot in the mail. 

Q: When do I need to send my ballot?  Make sure your ballot is postmarked on or before November 4, 2019 -- that's the day before Election Day. If you forget, you can always drop off your ballot on Election Day at your county clerk's office, a polling location, or a ballot drop box.

Q: Can I vote early in person?  Yes, there are early vote centers are generally set up throughout the county. For Early Voting locations, click here.  

Q: Can I vote in person on Election Day? Yes, you can vote in person at these locations.  Draper City and all other polling locations are open from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
